Correction of an Underbite

Correction of Open Bite
This patient has an anterior open bite, where the upper and lower teeth do not contact. This open bite resulted from a thumb-sucking habit. The malocclusion was corrected using a habit-breaking appliance as well as full braces. Not only did treatment result in the patient no longer sucking her thumb, but ultimately in a great functional and aesthetic outcome.
